Hello,
It’s Alice from Raring2go! Magazine, Burton and Ashby again. I’m emailing to tell you about the great big letter writing competition I’m holding. It’s open to all Primary and Junior age school children, and the prize is £200-worth of books for your school. H&H Spalding of Barton under Needwood has donated the books, and the winner will be picked by the Editor of Hoo’s Writing Corner.
All the children have to do is write a letter about their lives, to a resident of a local care home. Take a picture or scan of the letter, or send a word document over to me by the 8th March, making sure the entries are labelled with the child’s name, age and the school. All the information about how to enter and the prize details are attached in the pdf in this email. I’ve also attached a letter template that can be printed off for children in school to use (if they like. Entries don’t have to be sent on these.) Two runners’ up will also win mini book bundles courtesy of Raring2go! and winning entries will be published in the Spring issue of Raring2go! Magazine, Burton & Ashby.
There is no cost to enter and I’m hoping the competition will encourage community spirit during this 3rd difficult lockdown. I’m also working with a number of care homes, who will be receiving the letters to pass on to residents (I will be in touch after the closing date with more details of this).
